ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
SUDDEN DEATH. By Telegraph —Pre*-* Association Dunedin, Feb. 1 6. Peter Mulder, a watersider, aged 50, a married man, fell dead in Customhouse Square. FALL FROM TRAIN. Dunedin, Feb. 16. F. R. Wilton, a visitor from Oamaru, was found lying alongside the railway line at St. Leonard’s last night with his head gashed. He was unconscious. It is surmised that he fell from the express or local train earlier in the evening. From a steamer ticket in his pocket it appeared that he had booked a passage in the Paloona for Melbourne. Wilton is now recovering. BODIES IDENTIFIED. Greymouth, Feb. 18. The two bodies recovered last night on Cobden beach have been identified as those of Harry Evans, of Reefton, and Leelie O’Donnell, of Cronadun. They were victims of the recent surf tragedy. DEATH UNDER ANAESTHETIC. Auckland, Feb. 16. The wife of Clarence John Allen, a dealer, died under an anaesthetic at the hospital while undergoing an abdominal operation. A post mortem showed that death was caused by diseased organs, and the coroner returned a verdict accordingly. He found that the hospital authorities had exercised every care and skill.
