WESTFIELD STOCK MARKET. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. At the Westfield beef market the demand was less keen, and values, especially for heavy cattle, were easier. Extra choice ox made £1 ss; choice and prime, £1 2s to £1 4s; ordinary and plain, 18s to £1 Is; rough, 7s 6d to 12s 6d; prime young cow and heifer, £1 to £1 ss; ordinary cow, 16s to 19s. Heavy prime steers brought £8 10s to £9 10s; lighter prime, £7 to £8 ss; light, £6 to £6 15s; unfinished, £4 to £5 15s; extra special cows and heifers, £7 5s to £9 2s 6d; heavy prime young cows and heifers, £5 18s to £7; lighter, £4 to £5 ss; light and aged, £2 to £3 15s; others, £1 to £1 15s. Sheep.—A heavy yarding, competition being less keen and all classes receding 2s to 3s. Extra prime wethers made 23s to 245, heavy prime, 21s to 235; medium to heavy p ’me, 18s to 20s 6d. Lambs. —Extra large numbers, the quality generally being a decided improvement on recent markets. There was a keen demand, and values were very firm. Extra heavy prime made 25s to 30s; heavy prime, 22s to 24s 6d; lighter, 19s to 21s. Pigs.—A large yarding of fats. Competition was keen and last week’s improved values were easily maintained. Stores, better worth choppers, to 50s; heavy baconers, £3 17s 6d to £4 ss; medium, £3 5s to £3 14s; heavy porkers to light baconers, £2 3s to £3 2s 6d; light to medium porkers, £2 4s to £2 10s.
