SOUTHERN MARKETS By Telegraph —Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Early wheat samples are now coming to hand freely, but generally they are disappointing in the matter of quality. Some are smutted and musty, but quite a considerable proportion has not been screened at the mill at all adequately. It is expected tie later threshings of crops that had the benefit or the January rains wijl show a belter sample as far as the quality of the perry itself is concerned. There are practically no offerings of oats, farmers .apparently concentrating on tne threshing of wheat. Most, of the oats harvested Las been put into stack. The market is firm for A grade Gartons ai 2s 3d to 2s 3%d, but Algerians and Duns are not inquired for to any extent. Good weight cocksfoot is worth sd, but little is coming forward. Potatoes have eased, and are worth, main crop, £3 10s to £4, with few inquiries. It is stated there is a satisfactory second crow in the north. Reports from the south are that blight is not likely to be so destructive as anticipated a few weeks ago. As against this reports from several quarters in the North Island are .hat blight has seriously damaged the maJn crop. Onions are woxth about £4 10s a ton. BRADFORD WOOL MARKET.
