There are penalties and allowances, the latter including 2 bilos (about 4%1b) to horses imported Into Spain before February 1, 1922, and belonging wholly or in partnership to one or more owners keeping a racing stable for some time before 1922. The first forfeit is £2O, and it costs £lBO to start, while horses not previously nominated can come up to September 1 on the payment of £640. The first prize Is £16,000, second £2OOO. third £l2OO, and fourth £BOO. An additional £2OOO will be given the breeder if the winner is a horse foaled in Spain.
