PROFITLESS LIBEL ACTION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Feb. 7. Mr. Thomas, referring to his recent libel action declares he intends to see the matter’ through. Defendants had gone bankrupt. He had nqt received a penny damages and intended giving one of the defendants an opportunity of explaining what become of £100 ; 000 received during the past two years.
[Mr. Thomas, the railwaymen’s leader, brought an action for libel last November against the Labor Press Ltd., and the editor and publisher of the newspaper Communist. Mr. Thomas’ counsel said that by words and cartoons the paper alleged that Mr. Thomas was a traitor to the movement which he professed to lead, and that he was deliberately trying to betray tnose who trusted him. The libels related to the coal strike negotiations.]
