Reece is 14,178, including a break of 362. Despite Smith’s anxiety to beat Falkiner tn ordfer to meet Newman with equal victories in the next heat of the tournament, Falkiner several times took the lead during the week, though he made fewer big breaks than his opponent, his best being 255 and 213. Smith’s best were 547, 432 and 357. Tte scores are: Smith 14,613, Ealkiner 14,317. Newman was two thousand ahead of Inman in the middle of the week, but the latter has since wiped off a thousand. The oes« breaks were: Newman 602, 363 and 325, Inman 406, 296, 280 and 245. The scores are Newman 14,2'33, Inunan 13,251. In the second round of the amateur championship Fry beat Fleming, the former holder of tte title, by two thousand to 1823. Fleming made a break of 172, the highest of- any competitor.—Aus.-N.Z.
