CROQUET.
NEW PLYMOUTH. TOURNAMENT. At a committee meeting of the Taranaki Croquet Association, held last night, it’ was reported that all arrangements for tho forthcoming tournament, to be commenced at tte Pukekura Park greens on February 4, were well in hand. Entries for the tournament are most encouraging. In addition to players of tho New’ Plymouth, Fitzroy, and Park Clubs, Hawera, Stratford, and Waitara have entered teams and jilayers. The numbers of entries are: Champion singles 19, champion doubles 12 pairs, handicap singles 36, handicap doubles 20, teams’ match 5. Owing to the number of entries received, it is exoected that some of the matches will tave to be played on the Fitzroy green. The result of the drawings will be published in to-morrow’s issue.
