ADVANCE IN PRICES.
YESTERDAY’S SALE,
At the hide sale held in New Plymouth yesterday by Messrs. L. A. Nolan and Co., a good rise in prices was recorded. Thia was noticeable in the best lines, while skins damaged and oi indifferent condition realised price* at about last month’s rates. Cowhides made from 8d to B%d, and heaviest brands up to 9Jd. Good ox (601 b brought prices up to 14%d. Calfskins sold well from 14Ad to 15}d, and yearlings were in good demand at late rates up to 15d. Tallow wns quiet, but most of the catalogue was cleared at 23s for casks, and from 9s to 16* for tins.
