Wellington, Last Night. Present indications are for northerly winds strong to gale, backing to westerlies northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and to southerlies shortly elsewhere. The weather is unsettled and boisterous, with rain generally, and heavy rain with rivers rising in the western and southernmost districts. The barometer is falling, but will rise after about 24 hours.
