THE SHEFFIELD SHIELD. WON BY VICTORIA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Jan. 30, 11.20 p.m. Sydney, Jan. 30. The match New South Wales v. Victoria was resumed in fine weather, and on a crumbling wicket. Victoria, in their second innings, made 348. Bowling i a lysis: Kelleway, two wickets for 65; Mailey, three for 97; Wall, three for 37. New South Wales in their second innings made 192 (Collins 34, Andrews 33, Love 19, Kelleway 45). Bowling analysis: Macdonald, eight for 84. Victoria won by 154 runs, and the Sheffield Shield goes into their possession. The batsmen were more spirited to-day until the wicket began to crumble at one end, of which Macdonald took advantage and caused a collapse.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. SECONDARY SCHOOLS’ MATCH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. A match between Auckland Grammar School and Christchurch Boys’ High School for the Heathcote-Williams shield commenced to-day in fine weather. Auckland made 144 (Reid 70, Monteith 12, Weir 17). Powell took one wicket for 13, Cromb five for 36, King one for 10. Jacobs three for 15. High School have lost three wickets for 45 (Mortlock not out 14, Powell 11). The following team Will represent Midhirst in a match? against Eltham at Midhirst on Thursday: Snookes, McMeekan, Harkness, Inglis, L. Fowler, Riley, C. Fowler, Witheford. Green, Absolum, Anderson, Lash, Carter.
