TARANAKI LAND BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The usual monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held on Wednesday and Thursday. Present: Messrs. *H. J. Lowe (chairman), S. Blake, N. R. Cleland and J. W. H Martin. Leave of absence was granted to Mr. C. J Ryan. The application by Frank Pearce for the fee simple of section 16, Block 11, Heao, was approved. The following transfers were approved:—Section 24, block IV., Ngatimaru, E. McCluggage to . the Pohokura .Sawmill Co., Ltd; section 2. Block XI., Totoro, H. E. Mellor to T. A. Mellor; sub-divisions 2 and 3 of section 22, Block X.V., Kaupokonui, Public Trustee to Mary Schlichting; section 25., Kota Settlement, F. J. Sinclair to J. 11. Stove.

The following transfers were adjourned for further enquiry:—Section 540, town of New Plymouth, C. R. Fairbrother to E. Darney; sections 2 and 5, Block 1., Mapara, G. Murray to G. J. Finch.

The application by E. J. Brough for a portion of section 11., Block VII., Omona, was adjourned for the ranger’s report. The* surrender of A. E. Edmonds’ lease of section 11., Block VII., Omona, was accepted, the land to be offered under optional conditions, weighted with improvements. It was resolved to have the (restrictions removed from sections 8 and 9, Block 1., Pah\ and open them for ordinary selection. The awards of v the arbitrators in the matter of the renewal of the leases of sections 517, 518 and 519, town of New Plymouth, were approved.

The application of the Huatoki Domain Board for sections 9S. and part 10S., Huatoki Settlement, as an addition to t’he Scenic Reserve, was approved, subject to the necessary legislation. It was resolved to appoint Mr. Alan Good arbitrator in the matter of the renewal of the lease of section 6, Block XII.. Hawera.

The application by Edward Walsh to be allowed to sub-divide lots 2 and 3 of section U., Town Belt of New Plymouth, was approved. Sixteen applications for stock, etc., under the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Acts were recommended and two deferred; two applications to transfer were recommended, one refused, and two deferred.
