THURSDAY COMPETITION. - STRATFORD DEFEATS ELTHAM. The two leading teams in the Thursday cricket competition—Eltham and Stratford—met at Eltham on Thursday, and by winning this/ match Stratford also made their position at the top of the cmhnpipnship table doubly secure, no team in the competition now being in a position to challenge them for the laurels. The light was very bad. and the bowlers had a field day, particularly Cole, whose fast deliveries were chiefly responsible for his side’s success.
