TRIAL OF ARBUCKLE.
DEFENCE EXPECT A VICTORY. By Telegraph. —Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Jan. 26, 8.10 p.m. San Francisco, Jan. 25. At the Arbuckle trial a hotel maid testified that she cleaned the door knobs of the door of the suite occupied by the Arbuckle party, thus attempting to turn aside the prosecution’s charges against Arbuckle based on fingerprints on the door knob. The State to-day attempted to negate the maid’s testimony on the ground that &he is insane. The defence is rapidly concluding its testimony and appears certain of victory.—-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
