BOTTOMLEY’S LIBEL ACTION.
A SENSATIONAL COLLAPSE. / By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Jan. 2.3. Mr. Bottomley’s libel action against Mr. Bigland collapsed somewhat sensationally at the Old Bailey. Mr. Bottomley’s counsel applied for an adjournment in order to secure the attendance of certain witnesses. Mr. Bigland’s counsel opposed the application, whereupon the prosecution offered no evidence and the judge acquitted Mr. Bigland, granting him costs.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
