WEDDING
SEXTON—WARD. A pretty but quiet wedding took place at St. George’s Church, Patea, on January 18, when Miss Minnie Ward, oi Manutahi, was married to Mr. Maurice D. Sexton, of Remuera, Auckland. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, attired in a travelling costume of fawn gaberdine, with blue hat with touches of yellow, and carried a bouquet of sweet peas, the gift of Mrs. Corfield, of Manutahi. After the ceremony the party adjourned to the Patea Tea Rooms, where the wedding breakfast was partaken of, and the usual toasts honored. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a travelling yalise, and the bride’s present to the bridegroom was a gold-mounted fountain-pen; the bridegroom’s present to the bridesmaid was also a travelling valise. The presents were numerous and useful. The happy couple left by mail train for New Plymouth, en route for Auckland, where the honeymoon will be spent.
