EGMONT SHOW.
OPENS TO-MORROW. The thirty-eighth annual show to be neld under the auspices of the Egmont A and P. Association opens to-morrow. It promises to be equally as successful as any previous show; indeed, if the interest and enthusiasm displayed by the eemmittee are any criterion, it should easily create a record. The committee have undoubtedly worked hard, and during the past year have affected improvements to the grounds and appointments that cannot but be appreciated by exhibitors and public alike. The exhibitors will find that in the general arrangements, which are very complete, nothing has been left undone that, could assist in ensuring the comfort of their exhibits and themselves. The public will appreciate the splendid stand accommodation that has been provided, giving seating for fully 2300 spectators, who will find much to interest, instruct, and amuse them. There are splendid entries in the cattle and horse sections, as well as the industrial, etc., whilst the spectacular items are a feature. The Egmont jumping competition, as well as the Bryce rose bowl hunting competition, have drawn splendid entries, and keen competition is assured, whilst the same applies to the dog trials on each day. There are numerous machinery displays, whilst the side shows are numerous and varied. The Hawera band will be in attendance, whilst due attention has been paid to the important matter of catering* and the other incidentals that help towards the success of a show. Special fares and delayed trains have been arranged for the convenience of those wishing to visit the show from as far north as New Plymouth, and as far south as Patea.
