At Tarurutangi oh Saturday a most enjoyable match was played between the local team and a team from Newton King. Ltd.’s New Plymouth staff, the verdict going to the town house by the small margin of 8 runs on the first innings. Scores: —

Newton King, Ltd., followed on, and declarr'.'l at 59 for 7 wickets (Akers 24, Stop ; 13 and Sarten 13), to which Taruru repliedi with 17 for 1 wicket (H. Skelton 8, A. Giddy 9 not out). The day’s play was brought to a pleasant ending with the serving by the Taruru ladies of a delightful afternoon tea.
