CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALES. SATISFACTORY PRICES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Jan. 21. The wool sales concluded, to-day, when a small catalogue of mixed wools were offered. Yesterday’s rates were maintained. As compared with the December sale, the advance in respect of five grades was equal to 10 per cent., oil merinos 10 to 15, on halfbred 15, on Corriedale 10 to 20 per cent., on fine and medium crossbred scouring wools, particularly halfbred and merino, which were up approximately 15 to 20 per cent. Outside buyers continued their activity and secured a fair share, of the 46-46 wools. Less than 5 per cent, of the total catalogue was passed. The sale altogether was a very satisfactory one. LONDON MARKET. London, Jan. 19. Short loans are quoted at 3% per cent.; bills at 3| to 3 7-8 per cent.; Consols £53. New Zealand 4 per cents., £B9; 3% per cents., £73 2s fid; 3 per Cents.; £66 I Os. Waihi Junction shares, 7s 4d. • Gilt-edged stocks very firm. Tin, £163 I7s 6d to £165 12s 6d. Silver, 34 7-Bd. At the mixed wool sale there was a good selection of greasy scoured merinos, which were keenly competed for by home and continental buyers. There was also some American bidding. Prices were fully maintained. Crossoreds firm but unchanged. Bradford firm, but. buyers are not keen to pay the prices asked except for early delivery. Wheat cargoes firm in view of continued demand. Argentine prices are high6r, but American unchanged. An Australian on passage parcel sold at 495. Firm market for spot. Australian ex quay 53s to 545. Flour steady; Australian ex (store, 43s fid. Oats quiet. • Peas and beans firm. Sugar, granulated, 56s 6d. DAIRY PRODUCE MARKET. Messrs. Collett and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable advice dated Jan. 20, from their British principals:—Creamery butter, 134 s to 1365; whey butter, 106 s to 108 s; white cheese, 86s to 88s; colored cheese, 88s to 90s. Butter market is advancing with good demand. z

Demand for New Zealand mutton runs principally on lightweights; market firmer. New Zealand prime ox beef, hinds sd, fores 4d. Demand for New Zealand beef poor; market dull owing to lack of demand.
