* BIG BLAZE AT GLASGOW. FIVE PERSONS PERISH. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—• Copyright. London, Jan. 20. The goods stores of the North British railway at Glasgow were destroyed by fire. Five persons perished, and the damage totalled £250,000.—Au5.-N.Z. Cable Assn. Received Jan. 5.5 p.m. London, Jan. 20. The fire at Glasgow was one of the most disastrous in the city’s history. The buildings covered two acres and comprised the largest railway goods store in Britain. Over £1,000,000 worth of whiskey was in bonded store in the bs/iement. It is estimated the damage was at least £500,000. There were many narrow escapes, workers being rescued from the upper stories.— Cable Awu
