THEFT OF BICYCLES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Jan. 20. At the Magistrate’s Court a sentence of three months’ imprisonment, to be followed by 12 months’ reformative treatment, was imposed on Bertram Gordon Bosworth for stealing five bicycles. Accused was before the court on January 6 on charges of stealing three bicycles. On that occasion he was admitted to probation and his name ordered to be supressed on the ground that publication might hinder his father, a police officer, in the execution of his duty. Accused pleaded guilty to the charges. EMBEZZLEMENT ADMITTED. Christchurch, Jan. 20. In the Magistrate’s Court Reuben B. I. Swann, accountant, pleaded guilty to a charge of embezzlement of £290 10s belonging to the Clark Construction Company, and was committed to the Supreme Court for.sentence. It was stated that the defalcations amounted to £7OO. Bail was allowed. INDECENT ASSAULT CHARGE. Wanganui' Jan. 20. In the S.M. Court this morning, Charles Edward Weinel, a you'.g man charged with having indecently a: vaulted two boys, was remanded until to-morrow.
