TARANAKI AUTUMN MEETING. ENTRIES TO-NIGHT. A final reminder is given to horseowners and trainers that nominations for all events (excepting the Taranaki Stakes) at the above meeting close tonight at 9 p.m. Good stakes are offered for all classes of horses, and entries should be very numerous. Mr. C. O’Connor will attend to the starting at the meeting, and Mr, J. R. L. Stanford will fill the judge’s box. The handicapping will be in the capable hands of Mr. H. Coyle, and with Trentham and "Ha* wera form to guide him should produce some good handicaps. The local course is in fine order, and the secretary, Mr. E. P. Webster, has all arrangements complete for a successful meeting. TRENTHAM TRAINING NOTES. Wellington, Jan. 19. Perfect weather conditions prevailed at Trentham this morning. On s the grass track outside of the course proper Pluto and Farceur covered four furlongs in 49sec. Paonui and Sycorax did a mile in Imin. 42sec. Makere was beaten by Callaghan and Martial Dawn in five furlongs in Imin. 3 l-ssec. Fabrinade and Mountain Peer covered five furlongs in Imin. 2sec. Palestrina and Silent King galloped a mile and a quarter in 2min. 18sec. Mantua and Liquer covered six furlongs in Imin. 15sec., while The Hawk took Imin. 16 2-ssec. Jackaroo's four furlongs occupied 50sec. Songbird, Bengeroop and Mandrake were associated over ten furlongs. The last mile occupied Imin. 44sec. On the tan Insurrection beat Winning Hit by ten lengths over a mile in Imin. 42sec. Egotism and Vespucci ran a mile in Imin. 43 2-ssec. Thespian and Listowel did four furlongs in 48 2-ssec. Hyttus and Blissfulness covered the last five furlongs of a gallop in Imin. 5 l-ssec. Dainty Step and Halifax ran six furlongs in Imin. 17sec. Blackmail and Triboulet covered five furlongs in Imin. 4sec. Solfanello and Sunny Corner took Imin. 3 l-ssec. over five furlongs. The Speaker and Raceful covered six furlongs in Imin. 15 l-ssec. Red Bob and Borealis ran a mile in Imin. 44sec. Ares and Emperor sprinted half a mile in 49 4-ssec. Astinome and Roset did five furlongs in Imin. 4see. Quest and Scion ran six furlongs in Imin. 16 2-ssec. Anomaly covered four furlongs in 49sec. Explorer, St. Augustus and others were exercised. Gloaming hopped over six furlongs in Imin. 15sec.
