Competition is active in' all sections, and late rates are main-tained.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. WESTFIELD STOCK MARKET. Auckland, Last Night. At the Westfield market to-day there was a fair yarding of beef, mostly of good quality. Last week’s prices wore maintained, inquiry being brisk for light lots. Extra choice ox brought £1 3s; choice £1 Is 6d to 18«; second quality 17s to 15s; choice cows and heifers 20s to 15s; plain 15s to 10s. There was a good yarding of sheep, l mostly unfinished. Prime sorts sold I well. Extra good wethers made Ids; prime 15s fid to 13s fid; others 12s 6d to Ils; ewes 12s fid to Ils 6d; unfinished 10s to Bs. For a full yarding of lambs competition was keen for first prime heavy at 17s to 15s; prime 14< fid to 12s fid; others 10s to 7s 6d. Calves.—A fair yarding with not much demand for any except prime vealers. Runners brought £3 to £2f; vea'ers £2 15s to 30s; fresh dropped 8s to 4s. Pigs.— A big yarding with prices easier. Boners brought £3 to £2 ss; choppers £2 to 255; porkers £2 5s to 30s. LONDON WHEAT MARKET. Received Jan. 18, 5.5 p.m. Lopdon, Jan. 17. Wheat. —Cargo market steady, with better American advices.
