A STRANGE OFFER.

TO BUY FRENCH NAVY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. New York, Jan. 14. Mr. Henry Ford has announced his willingness to buy the entire French navy. His friends are unable to tell whether to take him seriously, though he has been doing unusual financing. He loaned 8,000,000 dollars to a lifelong friend, Henry Leland, to save the Lincoln Motor Company. Mr. Ford has certainly exchanged cables with Paris. The French Government asked him if he would buy certain ships as junk, and Air. Ford replied that he wanted the entire navy or nothing.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
