REDUCING WAGES.
OPPOSED BY TRADE UNIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Jan. 14. The general council of the Trade Union Congress has issued a manifesto to the unions throughout the country, proposing to create nationa 1 machinery, enabling the whole force of the trade union movement to combat the attempts to reduce wages and increase hours, incidentally suggesting that the council should be empowered to make a national levy to support the individual unions attacked.—-Reuter Service.
