The Minnesota (U.S.A.) House of Representatives has passed a Bill to the effect that persons supplying newspapers with false information for publication will be guilty of misdemeanour. An orchid valued at 500 :,s ’ whose production represents rly half a century of experiment, was exhibited at the Horticultural Hall, lin London, and declared by judges to bo the most wonderful specimen ever shown there. Named Odontoglossum Armstrong!!, the flower has been cultivated by Messrs. Armstrong and Brown, of Tunbridge Wells. It resembles a white star, with‘a heart of gold. The new orchid, it is said, is a hybrid, and consequ.ntly cannot be reproduced.
