DOMINION PRODUCE.
ITS LOSS OF IDENTITY. POSITION IN BRITAIN. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, Jan. 13. Mr. Trevor Evans, a sheep farmer of Te Kuiti, has arrived from England en route to New Zealand. He stated that he was surprised to see New Zealand meat offered for sale in the British Isles branded “N.Y., U. 5.,” and he is led to believe that some big American concern has cornered the bulk of the meat taken out of cold storage. Only once was he able to buy New Zealand butter, and he had not heard of the 20,000 tons surplus the Imperial authorities were trying to sell. He foreshadows young English farmers gravitating to Australasia when the economic conditions are brighter. Mr. Trevor Evans is well known in Taranaki. He owned a farm on the Upper Mokau River, where he was in partnership with Mr. Norman Robison.
