PLUNKET ART UNION.
FIRST PRIZE £4OO.
Th© lucky winner of the Wellington Plunket Home Art Union wil] receive £4OO in return for an investment of a paltry half-crown. Such an opportunity will no doubt appeal to the general public, most of whom possess a considerable amount of the “sporting” spirit, and no doubt many who have “never* won anything yet” will be prepared to try their luck again, and at the same time assist the wonderful institution which looks after the welfare of New Zealand’s babies and their mothers.
Wellington is very badly in need of a new Plunket Home—the present home being entirely’inadequate. Already the citizens of fhe capital city have subscribed over £3OOO, and possession has been taken of a thoroughly suitable property in Kent Terrace. Considerably more money is required to complete the purchase, also for renovating, furnishing, and equipping the home on up-to-date lines. That is where every reader can help, and incidentally have as good a chance as anybody in this country of receiving an absolute “gift” of £4OO. When completed, this new Plunket Home in Wellington will form the nucleus of a Karitane Hospital. Here mothers and expectant mothers will be able to consult the skilled Plunket Nurses and obtain advice which will ensure the health of New Zealand’s future generations. In another section of this issue wil! be found a large announcement that gives full particulars of you may assist this great cause.
