REVENUE FOR DECEMBER. ANOTHER INCREASE SHOWN. Reporting on the working of the New Plymouth tramways in December, the manager (Mr. R. H. Bartley) remarks:—Despite the inclement weather on several days during the heart of the Christmas season the revenue received from this department amounted to £1794 Is lOd, being an increase of £lO5 8s 5d over the corresponding period of 1920, whilst 8258 additional passengers have been carried. The annual overhaul of the older cars is proceeding satisfactorily, and so far three have been completed and Are in traffic. Maintenance work in with the track is also being curried out.”

ELECTRIC ’BUS SERVICE. The total fares received amount to £127 Is (kl, which represents an increase of £l-8 16s 7d compared with December, 1920. On Sunday, December 4, the ’bus ran several trips to Aotea, 128 passengers being carried and £2 18s being taken in fares. The passengers earned for the month are as follow: Westown, 6724; Frankley Road, 588; Vogeltown, 4325; special (Aotea), 128; total. 11.765.
