FIANCE’S WEDDING PRESENTS. GEMS AND ANTIQUES. London, Dec. 26. Viscount Lascelles and Princess Mary nowadays are familiar habitues of Bond Street, Regent Street, and neighboring haunts of fashionable shoppers. They are frequently together selecting her Christmas and wedding gifts. Princess Mary’s partiality for blue and green stones has prompted the selection of a George 111. diadem of five large sapphires set with brilliants, an Indian carved emerald drop with embellished pearls and diamonds, and also two bracelets studded with emeralds and diamonds and sapphires and diamonds. The Princess’ taste in brooches is evidenced by her choice of several consisting of pearls and diamonds. She follows her mother’s liking for snuff-boxes, preferably lapis lazuli, and has chosen a couple. The Queen accompanies Princess Mary to antique shops, proffering the counsel of a connoisseur in the selection of period furniture.
