GOVERNMENT HORTICULTURAL STATION.
Tauranga, Jan. 12. There are persistent rumors here that the Tauranga Government Horticultural Station is to be closed. Nothing official is ascertain able as to the Government’s intentions, but. as the farm is doing valuable work regarding* the growing of citrus fruit, for which the district is imminently suited, it is considered by competent judges that to close the station now would be a distinct loss to the district and th© citrus industry.
