Viscount Grey, who is 59, is best remembered as the holder of the important office of .Secretary for Foreign Affairs on the outbreak of war in 1914. He is a man of brilliant talents, and his part in shaping Britain’s foreign policy, particularly in the critical days approaching the European upheaval, is a notable one. His eyesight gave him trouble in 1915, and led to his temporary retirement. He returned to the Foreign Office, but finally retired on the resignation of the Coalition Ministry,
