MEAT OUTPUT.

MINISTER’S STATISTICS CORRECTED. By Telegraph.—Preu Association Wellington, Jan. 7. The Association of Meat Exporters, referring to Mr. Nos worthy’s figures in relationship to the New Zealand output of meat and British consumption, point out that the quotation of 1920 statistics clouds the issue. That year the exports were 50 per cent, above the norma] output, as the figures included accumulations held over in store from the previous year. It is also pointed out that the production of meat in Great Britain is suffering from depletion of live stock by 30 per cent. The statement that New Zealand supplies are equivalent to 5 per cent, of Home consumption presents a truer picture of the general position, says the association, than do the Minister’s figures.
