GALE AT SEA.
STEAMER’S LONG TRIP. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Jan. B. The Marama arrived at 6 a.m. after a seven day trip from Sydney. The vessel ran into a heavy south-east gale shortly after leaving Sydney and the bad weather continued until noon on Tuesday. Several ports ivere smashed and the cabins flooded. Some of the passengers had to be shifted to temporary quarters, but there was no materia} damage.
