SALE AT WANGANUL KEEN COMPETITION. By Telegraph.—Press Association.. Wanganui, Last Night. The first wool sale of this season was held to-day, 13,471 bales being offered, of which ninety per cent, were sold. Competition was keen throughout. Fine wools (for America registered the greatest advance, being 2d to 2%d on the Wanganui October sale and a halfpenny to three-farthings on the Wellington December sale. Medium wools also advanced about twopence on the October sale and halfpenny on the Wellington December sale. Inferior and bush stained wool made a slight advance. Lincoln wool (36’s) was in demand and advanced a halfpenny to’ three-farthings. Only choice lines of lambs were in demand, other lots of lambs being quite neglected. Following is the range of prices: Fine crossbred super (46-48’s) B|d to SJd, average 7*4a to Bd, inferior 5d to 6d; medium crossbred super (44-46’s) 7|d to B%d; medium crossbred, average (4446’s) 5Jd to 7id; medium crossbred inferior (44-46’s) 4id to 5%d; coarse crossbred super (36-40’s) 4d to sd; coarse crossbred average (36-40’e) 3Jd to 4£d; coarse crossbred inferior (3640’s)' 3d to 4|d; Lincoln (36’s) 4d to sd; hoggets fine (46-48’a) Ojd to 9id; hoggets medium (44-46’s) 5d to 7%d; hoggets coarse (40-44’s) 4sd to 6d; hoggets low (36-40’s) 3|d to 4%d; lambs fine 7Jd to BJd, lambs medium 4d to 7Jd, lambs seedy and inferior Id to 2di bellies and pieces, crossbred good to super, 3d to 4y 2 d; bellies and pieces, crossbred low to medium, 2jd to 3Jd; cnitchings, crossbred medium to good, 2%d to 3£d; locks, Jd to lid.
