SYDNEY SAFE ROBBERY.

THIEVES USE GELIGNITE.

The post office at the corner of Shepherd Street and George Street West, Sydney, was entered by thieves one night recently, and £77* in notes was stolen from a strong-room after the door had been blown open by explosives. Enrtance was effected at the rear of the building through a window, which was broken by the theives, who then released the latch.

Gelignite was used to blow open the strong-room door, which is built into, the wall of the outer office.
