One of the oldest and most respected residents of Devonport, Mrs. Edward Bartley, passed away recently at the age of 84. Mrs. Bartley was the widow of the late Mr. Edward Bartley, one of Auckland’s most prominent architects. She was married in 1859, and celebrated the sixtieth anniversary of her wedding nearly three years ago.

The Rev. J. Hugh Perkins has arrived in Wellington from England, on a visit to his son at Inglewood. Mr. Perkins is from Bradford, Yorks, England. He also been pastor of churches at Norwich and Worthing, and worked for four years in Home camps. He is accompanied by Mrs. Perkins.
