GERMAN ARTILLERY SECRETS

THE BIG . GUN STILL A MYSTERY. Few people are aware that, to this day no member of the Allied Missions in Germany has set eyes upon one the long-range guns that shelled Paris at a distance of 75 miles, says the Naval and Military Records. The Germans contrived to remove all these unique weapons before they surrendered, and subsequently destroyed them so thoroughly that no part of the guns has ever been found. But for the accidental discovery of certain plans and specifications and a careful survey of the emplacements whence the guns were fired, we should still be ignorant of the design and ballistics of the most remarkable type of ordnance produced during the war. And even as it is our information is bv no means detailed.
