Recently in the Sydney markets hundreds of bushels of beans were removed to the municipal tip at a cost of 15s a load as no one could be found to take them for even nothing. The beans, in a number of cases, had been forwarded by returned soldiers. Inexperience was the reason for the state in which they came to hand, for 90 per cent, had been left on the plants too long, with the result that they were old and stringy.
