The following forecast was Issued at 4 p.m.: "Present indications are for freshening easterlies northwards of New Plymouth and Napier, and moderate to -strong north-east to. south-east winds elsewhere. Dull and misty weather may be expected, with rain foliowInging generally, and probably heavy in the north. The barometer is falling, but will' rise soon in the south.”
