The financial editor of the Times states that the bankers’ report shows distinct signs of business improvement, attributable to the marked financial activity of the past two months, during which £60,000,000 was raised in loans, mainly for the Dominions and. colonies. The reduction of the bank rate contributed to the improvement The Trade Facilities Act, designed to relieve unemployment, is now operatino-, and applications are invited tor Government guarantee of loans for capital undertakings, whether for the United Kingdom or abroad. Preference will be given to applications for und£ ** takings within the Empire. As the total guarantee is limited, immediate application is necessary.
