WEDDING.
TODD—WILLIAMS. A very pretty wedding, and one which aroused considerable local interest, took place in St. Aidan’s Church, Okaiawa, last week, when Miss Williams. youngest daughter of Mr. W. Williams, was married to Mr. G. 8. Todd. The church had been nicely decorated by the bride’s lady friends. Rev. Mr. Swainson officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother (Mr. W. G. Williams), was attended by her niece, Miss Dorothy West, as bridesmaid, while Mr. W. Barclay acted as best man. The bride’s sister, Mrs. J. Barclay, officiated at the organ. After the ceremony the guests adjourned to the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. Barclay, where a sumptuous wedding breakfast was partaken of and the usual toasts honored. The happy coup 1 ? left for the South Island, where the honeymoon is being spent. The bride was the recipient of many valuable presents. The young couple are well known and extremely popular locally, and the best wishes of a large circle of friends are extended to them for their future happiness. A short time prior to the wedding Miss Williams was entertained at a kitchen evening in the hall, when her many friends brought along a fine collection of articles both useful and ornamental. Miss Williams was also presented with a silver entree dish and silver sweet dish from the members of St. Aidan’s Church. Rev. Mr. Swaineon, in making the presentation, spoke in eulogistic terms of Miss Williams’ services to the church. She had been a most consistent attender, and her removal from Okaiawa would be a distinct loss to the church.-—Star correspondent.
