N.S.W. v. WELLINGTON TEACHERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. In a representative cricket match, New South Wales teachers v. Wellington teachers, the latter won the toss and made 201 (Smith 104). New South Wales lost two wickets for 93 runs when stumps were drawn, and r’ae game was drawn. O’Neill, for New South Wales, took five wickets for 28 runs. N.S.W. v. VICTORIA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Melbourne, Dec. 27. The weather was dull and the wicket good. Victoria, in their first innings, made 302. Bowling analysis: Gregory, four wickets for fl runs; Punch, three for 37. New Souh Wales, in their second innings, 2BO (Collins 111, Love 102). Bowling analysis: Hartkoff five wickets for 8G runs. McDonald three for 7G. Victoria, in the second innings, lost no wickets for 4 runs. Collins and Love gave a fine exhibition, the former scoring freely all round the wicket, the partnership adding 205. Frequent changes were made in the bowling without effect, but after Collins was dismissed wickets fell qulckly, the last eight realising only 52. WELCOME TO RETURNED ME<N. Speaking at the official welcome to the returning cricketers, Armstrong said he wondered at the origin of the rumors that there had been dissatisfaction among the members of the team. He declared they had been a nappy family all through. One or two players were disappointed at not being included in the Jest matches, but those were little troubles which could not be avoided. The manager, Mr. emphatically denied that there had begn anj’ undue friction among the members while touring. Collins declared that the success of the team was largely due to Lheir being a happy family. THE BARRACKING NUISANCE. Melbourne, Dec. 28. A section of the crowd at the cricket match barracked Mayne and Ryder and a number of the New South Wales players. They were particularly severe on Mayne, using strong language at times. The Victorian Association held a hurried special met ting, at which it was decided to dispatch special constables to the outer ground to repress the evil. The cause of the barracking Is unexplained. Received Dec. 28, 10.15 p.m. Melbourne, Dec. 28. Mayne states that as a result of the barracking severaT New South Wales players have decided not to play in Victoria again. He added that he never heard such personal barracking before. NORTH V. SOUTH TARANAKI. On Saturday next the North v. South Taranaki game should prove an interesting trial of strength. The game is to be played at Hawera, commencing £t 10.30 a.m. Tie South team is as follows; Pratt, Beechey (captain). Worrall, Fogarty (Hawera), Cole, C. Little (Eltham), Maunsell, Haynes, H. Hughes, Judd (Manaia), Penny (Okaiawa); emergencies, Stewart (Eltham), Harrison (Okaiawa), Marsh (Eltham), Mair (Kaponga). The junior representative North v. Soutfc match is to be played on Saturday at New Plymouth, the following being the South team: Cosgrove, Guise, Daley (Manaia), Lay, Davies, Piper, Cotton (Hawera and Tech.), Davies, Phillips, Hemingway. Ansford (Eltham). Next week, probably Saturday, the 7th, or Monday, the 9th. an interesting match will be played in Hawera against the Nelson teaun now touring in quest of the Hawke Cup.
