WEDDINGS.
ABBOTT—MeKAY. A wedding was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Church, Ohura, on December 7, when Miss Isabel McKay, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. McKay. Ohura, was married to Mr. Edward Lee Abbott, only son of Mr. and the late Mrs. T. Abbott, Kaponga. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Myrtle McKay, and Miss Cheeseman, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Cheeseman. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. D. J. Law as best man and Mr. Hugh Robinson as groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, where the usual toasts were honored. Later in the afternoon the happy couple left by car for the South Island. The brid'e’s travelling dress was a smart mole coat frock with hat to match. The wedding presents were numerous and valuable; including many cheques. GEORGE—WALTERS. The marriage of Miss Ivy "Waters to Mr. Roland George took place at St. Cuthbert's Church, Manaia, on Saturday, December 17.' The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. Swainson, M.A., the service being fully choral. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. L. A. Waters, was prettily gowned in white Indian silk, with veil and orange blossoms, and carried an exquisite shower bouquet. Miss Summers, in. creme silk and black hat, was bridesmaid, and. carried a bouquet of lovely creme roses. Wee Na-.icy Pettigrew, in pink crepe de chine, made a sweet flower girl. Mr. Ronald Walters acted as best man and Mr. Cvril Abbott as groomsman. The church had. been tastefully decorated by the bride’s friends, and Mrs. Hammond officiated at the organ.
