THE MEAT POOL.
CONFERENCE OF PRODUCERS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. On July 10 a conference, convened by the Board of Agriculture, is to be held in Wellington to consider the meat pool proposals recently otitlined in Parliament by the Prime Minister. Mr. Massey informed a Times repre- v sentative to-day that until the decision of the conference ie known nothing will be done in the direction of appointing an organiser or a board of control for the projected meat pool. “There seems to be a very general idea,” states the Prime Minister, “that the organisation will be a Government department, but this is not the case. It will be a producers’ organisation. It will, of course, have Government support and backing, but it will be the producers’ own organisation.”
