CRIME SENSATIONS.
IN NEW YORK AND CHICAGO. By Telegraph —Pr«BB Assn.—Copyrrgtit. Received Dec. 26, 5.5 p.m. New York, Dec. 24. The day before Christmas brought a record crime wave in New York. Ten hold-up robberies are reported, in which four persons were killed, one of. whom was a bandit. One woman and several detectives were seriously wounded, while other persons were beaten about. Ten thousand dollars’ worth of jwellery and currency was taken. News from Chicago indicates an un j precedented number of cases of violence even for Chicago. Eight robberies and hold-ups were reported in one day, and sex eral persons were seriously injured.— Auf N.Z. Cable Assn.
