HARBOR SCHEME.

MONEY FOR DEVELOPMENT. pTAN OF £128,000. News that a loan of £128,000 hat been successfully floated in London on behalf of the New Plymouth Harbor Board will be welcome to those who are anxious to see the development scheme pushed ahead. Advice to this effect was received by the chairman of the board (Mr. Newton King yesterday. The new loan will be sufficient to carry on the works for about two years, and as the extension of the breakwater and tlie building of the proposed new wharf are questions which are prominently befbre the board to-day as being much needed, it is likely the moneywill be expended in this direction. Details of the loan and rate of interest) will not be available till the January meeting of the board, but it is understood the rate will be in the neighbourhood of 7 per cent., and that the term is a short one.
