BOXING.
STRATFORD TOURNAMENT. A good deal of interest is already being manifested in the fight which has been arranged to take place in the Stratford Town Hall between Charlie Cann, of Wanganui, anu Harry Gunn, of Timaru, for the professional bantam-weight championship of New Zealand and a purse of £ 100. A aing-dong bout Is anticipated, and both men' are reported to be at their best. Gunn will have to fight i: rd to retain the championship, and whoever wins will have earned his victory. In addition to the big event five amateur bouts have been arranged, and these should provide some good boxing. Another bout has been arrang- , cd between R. Dudding and I. Brooking, the : Stratford bantams, who will be remembered i tor the great exhibition they gave when th?y fought a draw at Eltham recently. These boys alone will be worth seeing. Light, wel- 1 ter, and middle-weight bouts have aiso been ‘ arranged. Booking is at Wilson Bros., and i patrons are advised not to delay in reserving their seats.
