WASHINGTON CONFERENCE.
LOT OF WORK AHEAD. END NEXT MONTH. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. Received Dec. 22, 8.20 p.m. Washington, Dec. 21. It is unlikely the Conference will complete its labors until the middle of January, even should France fall into line on all points of the naval programme without further wrangling. It is believed the Shantung matter is giving some anxiety, and it is unlikely further progress will be made with it for several days.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
