MAHOE.

SCHOOL PICNIC. Last Saturday the annual schoo’ picnic of the Mahoe School was held in the school grounds, there being a large attendance of children and parents, who took advantage of the fine weather to enjoy a very pleasant day. Races and games occupied most of the day. and just before afternoon tea was Served a presentation of a book was made to every scholar, and Anna Corbisliley was presented with a dux prize. She and Sidney / Mann gained their proficiency certificates and Leslie Hall gained a competency certificate. Cheers for the ladies and teachers concluded the function. All the mothers helped in providing afternoon tea and a committee consisting of Mesdames G. Anderson, R. Anderson, FT. Kemp,. Davy, Cave, Mackenzie and Brewer, and Misses Mackenzie, Davy and Cumberworth was in charge of the arrangements. Messrs. Geo. Shrimpton (chairman) and H. Shrimpton also assisted in making the picnic a success.
