WALL STREET EXPLOSION.

SOLVING THE MYSTERY. CHIEF ACTOR ARRESTED. By Telegraph.—Fresg Assn.—Copyright. New York, Dec. 17. Mr. W. J. Burns, head of the Criminal Investigation Branch of the Department of Justice, states that the arrest in Warsaw of Wolf Lindenfeld. will clear up the entire mystery of the Wall Street explosion of September 16, 1920. Mr. Burns declared that Lindenfeld himself was not implicated in the explosion, but was so close to the Radical elements who perpetrated it that he knew the full facts. The Third International was the moving spirit behind the plot. According to Lindenfeld it supplied 30,000 roubles to the Radicals here who planned the outrage. According to Mr. Burns Linderfeld was originally sent abroad by the Justice Department to obtain information that would lead to the arrest of the plotters. When no reports were received from him Agent Cosgrove was sent to find him and Lindenfeld’s arrest followed.

The United States authorities evidently have been long in possession of the information contained in Lindenfeld’s confession, even knowing the names of the plotters. The arrests wefe delayed for want of additional information which the Department of Justice now has. Early arrests are thus expected. According to Mr. Burns the plot aimed to destroy Mr. J. P. Morgan and his offices. He asserts that a woman spy watched Mr. Morgan's offices ■, for weeks, reporting Mr. Morgan’s movements. The bomb was timed to explode as he was leaving the office, but went off prematurely. A Washington official points out that, while Mr. Morgan was in Europe at the time, this discrepancy in Lindenfeld’s confession is accountable for by the fact that the woman mistook someone else for Mr. Morgan.
